Policeman Injured In West Sacramento Car Accident

Even police officers, highly trained to handle high-speed car pursuits, can become victim to a car accident caused by reckless driving.

That was the case January 18, 2009 when a West Sacramento policeman lost control of his patrol car, while speeding, and caused a single-car accident into some trees.  The officer, whose name was not released, was attempting to overtake a traffic violator on the Southport Parkway, west of Washington Boulevard, when he lost control of his car and hit several trees in the center median of the road.

The experienced auto accident lawyers at our firm know that even police officers are vulnerable to getting into accidents on the road, leading to wrongful death or personal injury.  Life is not a movie — these are real people who can make mistakes and sometimes even the good guys get hurt.

The officer was injured in the auto accident and was taken to the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento for medical treatment, according to officials.

As this story proves, no one is immune to losing control of their car at high speeds.  Police officers are trained to handle high speeds so that they can apprehend criminals in high-speed chases, but even they are not perfect.  Speeding is a needless crime and could claim your life.

Our car accident lawyers know the dangers of speeding.  Speeding lowers your reaction time, and resulting car accidents are far more damaging at these higher rates of speed.  So please, when you are on the road, follow the speed limit that is posted.
