Shepard, who is married to actress Jessica Lange, was passing through Illinois, on his way back home to Kentucky when he decided to toss back one too many before getting into the driver’s seat of his car. Illinois state police pulled Shepard over after he was speeding down a busy street at night, having just a left a bar and going back to his hotel.
Upon receiving a breathalyzer test, it was discovered that Shepard’s blood alcohol level (BAC) was twice the legal limit allowed by state law.
