According to the old food pyramid, the United States Department of Agriculture recommends people to get 3-5 servings of vegetables every day. If you’re a fan of spinach as one of those servings, you may be getting more than just that.
Ippolito International of Salinas, California has initiated a products liability recall of over 1,700 cartons of spinach packaged from September 1-3 according to the California Department of Public Health. Salmonella was reported found in those packages, and the recall was issued to prevent products liability claims as well as health problems.

Our personal injury attorneys in San Diego believe consumers should be warned as soon as possible when recalls are issued. When these recalls involve food, the products being recalled need to be removed from store shelves to prevent sickness.
Salmonella poisoning can cause diarrhea if ingested, and wrongful death is also possible in either the very young or the very old. No matter what conditions could happen from salmonella poisoning, the results are never good.
The spinach was packed within the “Queen Victoria” label and shipped to states across the country including California, Arizona, Florida and New York. The recall also indicated packages of “Tubby” spinach was contaminated as well. Those packs of spinach were shipped to California and New York.
Although no related illnesses have been reported, we hope that these packs of contaminated spinach were removed before consumers got sick. If you’ve taken ill because of food poisoning, maybe you should think about having a free consultation with one of our San Diego personal injury lawyers.
