Wrongful Death Settlement For Driver In Fatal Truck Accident

A lawsuit over the wrongful death of a truck driver after a truck accident led to an explosion at a Tacoma, Washington metal producing plant was settled for terms not released to the public.

The personal injury settlement was announced on Wednesday in the wrongful death truck accident of Charles McDonald Sr.  McDonald was fatally burned in a truck accident when propane he was unloading ignited causing an explosion.

A profession that many people choose is one in the trucking industry.  Travelling across the country delivering products can be lucrative, but also dangerous.  Our semi-truck accident attorneys know that sometimes, truck accidents can occur leading to some of the worst property damage and most severe personal injuries.

One unexpected explosion led to the wrongful death of a husband and father.  McDonald’s lawyer said a hose owned by Atlas Castings & Technology was missing a nozzle and clamps when McDonald arrived, and repairs were made by inexperienced workers.  The hose failed, releasing a cloud of propane that caught fire and exploded on October 6, 2007.

The carrying of dangerous materials was hazardous enough for McDonald.  Adding negligence to the repair of an important hose and nozzle makes a dangerous situation worse because propane is a highly flammable material that can catch fire and explode if not carried properly and cautiously.

As semi-truck accident lawyers, we believe that truckers who carry dangerous materials have enormous responsibilities.  Not only do they have to provide useful goods to consumers all over the country, but while driving, they must always utilize safe driving techniques, be careful not to speed and be mindful of their surroundings to ensure the safety of themselves and other drivers.
